James Murphy delivers ambitious pop on his newest LP "This Is Happening". Reference David Bowie's song "Heroes" for Murphy's inspiration.

Duane Allman was such a melodic, original guitarist. He really stretches out on this one.

Nothing less than a great pop song.

Copeland - "Good Morning Fire Eater"

This was #1 on my iTunes' most played. Melodic, aching, and most surprisingly, aggressive. This song has high sentimental value for me lolz.

My Morning Jacket - "Mahgeetah"

Jim James and co. have kept guitar heroics alive and in turn, sound like a gem from decades past. I used to listen to this song all the time a couple of summers ago and I still love it.

Bradford Cox and co. continue to write some of the best pop music of my generation. The man is fearless and he talks about real shit. None of the faux indie sincerity that so many bands pass off as genuine art. But few bands are making music of this quality. Kudos Mr. Cox.
